- Due to the impact of isolation on children under the age of three, we are seeing a large increase in febrile viral illnesses in this age group. These children have not developed natural immunity which is ordinarily acquired by exposure to other children. Your child may be more prone to develop fevers or rashes until we return to normal social interactions.
- ALL PROVIDERS AND STAFF HAVE BEEN FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19
- PLEASE INFORM THE STAFF BEFORE COMING IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU OR ANY OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS. SYMPTOMS MAY BE AS MILD AS CONGESTION OR A RUNNY NOSE. PLEASE VISIT THE COVID-19 RESOURCE SECTION ON THE MEDICAL INFORMATION PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE OR ARRANGE FOR COVID-19 TESTING.
- The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine for children 6 months to 5 years has been postponed due to the need for increased testing of the efficacy of the vaccine. The vaccine will not be available until July 2022 at the earliest.
- The FDA has now authorized the booster Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5-11 years. Although we are on the list to provide the vaccine, we have been informed that large clinics, pharmacies, schools and special vaccine clinics will be first to receive the vaccine. To learn more about which sites will first have the vaccine, go to vaccinate.dc.gov If your child's school offers the vaccine, please do not hesitate to have them vaccinated. We will post on the website as soon as we are able to offer the vaccine.
- Children 12-15 have been able to receive the vaccine since May 10, 2021.Pfizer announced earlier this year that the vaccine trials showed its vaccine is 100 percent effective in preventing COVID-19 infection in this age group. Vaccinating children is key to raising the level of immunity in the U.S. populations. Children 12-18 are now able to get vaccines and boosters on a walk-in basis at any site offering Pfizer vaccine, with proof of age and parental consent.

- Rest assured that we are taking extra cleaning precautions in the office. Patients will be scheduled to minimize the number in the office. You will go directly into an exam room rather than into the waiting room.
- Office Status: We are open from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. and will post any updates here. Unless you suspect that you or your child has COVID-19, please come in for your regular well appointments, particularly if your child is scheduled for immunizations.
- Call in advance if you have symptoms of and exposure to COVID-19 and we will advise you of next steps and if indicated, where to get tested. Strict quarantine is still advised.
